New keyboard!

What the title says. It’s a Yamaha PSR-E333 and is quite a bit more advanced than my old keyboard, which honestly looked like some kind of Fisher-Price toy. Still has no pitch/modulation wheels, though. Weirdly. Here’s a video of me having a jolly good time with it:

MIDIs page back; tons of new MIDI crap now up

Alrighty, the MIDIs page is back up, and everything should be back to normal now. 🙂 I now have a new online MIDI repository which is here: http://jimmy.the-powerhouse.net/MIDI/ So please change your bookmark URLs (haha, right) from “phenomer” to “the-powerhouse”. I have yet to clean up the links in the previous posts (they still lead …

Adrenaline Mob: An actual review

Seeing how I’ve already ranted indirectly at the various vitriolic reviewers decrying the latest venture of two of my all-time modern metal heroes in something that seems to be a radical departure from what is considered their “norm”, I thought I might as well give my take on the album, to see if I can …

Important: Phenomer.net = Phenomer dot dead

It would seem that Phenomer.net, the filespace I used to upload all of my stuff, has gone down permanently – meaning my overbloated file repository, which has, for a number of years, been painstakingly provided and maintained by the brilliant Wartorn, has moved. He did a great job with the move and now all that …

Epic MIDI time: “The Godhood Suite”

So this is something that I’ve been working on since October last year. Like many of my projects, I took a lot of breaks from it, so it’s hard to determine exactly how long I spent on this, overall. However, it is without question my most intense and ambitious musical venture ever. It’s a progressive …

Adrenaline effin’ Mob

Watch this video and tell me this band isn’t made of awesome. There are several reasons why you’ll probably have a hard time: (1) Adrenaline Mob is a heavy metal supergroup consisting of Symphony X vocalist Russell Allen and Dream Theater ex-drummer Mike Portnoy. These guys are pretty much icons within the world of metal, …

YouTube update: Piano improv

A few days ago I recorded myself doing some impromptu chord sequences… some of which sounded kinda good, some of which sounded sorta meh. Check it out below, anyways. I’m no Jordan Rudess (lord, no), but I aim to get better with further practice on the theory side of music, and the uploading of more …

YouTube update 28/04/12

I uploaded three new tracks to my YouTube channel. Even if I say so myself, they’re all pretty killer in their own little ways. Find them below. 😀 “Liquid Luck” ______________________________________________________________________________ “The Cry” ______________________________________________________________________________ “Scattered Ashes”

New sidebar widget: 5 latest tracks

Here’s something my dad (sorta) suggested my blog needed. On the right-hand side of the page, just underneath that awesome picture of my face, you can now listen to my five latest tracks via embedded audio. These are the same higher-quality MP3s that get uploaded to my YouTube channel, so hope you enjoy listening to …
